"Burnished Horizons"

This piece is a celebration of texture, depth, and natural beauty. Crafted with 100-year-old barnwood, metal accents, and epoxy resin, it captures the rugged majesty of a mountain sunset. The weathered wood brings a rich, tactile character to the dramatic foreground peaks, while the metallic background peaks shimmer like distant alpine ridges. A vibrant epoxy accent forms a high-altitude lake, its bold turquoise hue offering a striking contrast to the earthy tones of the mountains. 

Inspiration:

Mountain sunsets have always left a lasting impression on me. There’s something about the way the light catches the peaks, painting the sky in colors no artist could ever fully replicate. It’s humbling to remember that every piece I create is just a reflection of the ultimate masterpiece found in nature. This work was inspired by those moments in the wilderness that fill me with a deep sense of awe and gratitude for the world we get to explore.

Composed of: Epoxy resin (alpine lake), a poplar sun, 350 + meticulously hand-cut pieces of reclaimed weathered barnwood (some of which is over 100 years old), and an oak hardwood frame.
